These ground lights were installed to light the statue of Lloyd George opposite the museum. Can you see it? When the lights stopped working because of a fault, a councillor requested that they be repaired! The light behind the statue is a street light.

One advantage of these new lights is that they often fail in wet weather.

The latest fashion lights are bolted, usually at eye level, flush against walls. Is the intention functional or decorative? 50% of the light goes upwards and a lot shines unpleasantly into the eyes of passers by. Last Christmas they remained on, all through the pubic holiday, day and night.The outside of this health clinic is well lit by excellent street lights.

Lighting up flagpoles with banks of flood lights is a prolific waste of energy.

You can see the enormous energy being used to light the figure on top of this building and that most of it will miss and cause light pollution.
