The Cardiff Astronomical Society is a thriving society located in South East Wales. Cardiff Astronomical Society promises a warm and friendly welcome for all! Come and join the 350+ members at our meetings or observing sessions.

Membership entitles you to the following benefits:-
    You can attend our fortnightly (September to July) lecture programme*.
    Borrow the Society's telescopes.
    Make use of our Library.
    Attend our monthly (except December) Observers Club*
    Attend our scheduled observing sessions* (Weather permitting).
    Use the Society's Observatory at Dyffryn Gardens.**
    Join us on our Social events, meals, day trips etc.

Cardiff Astronomical Society's season runs from the 1st September through to the 31st August. Membership fees apply to a single season. New membership taken out after our Annual General Meeting (usually in early April) will be for the season starting on the 1st September, the remainder of the current season will be free of charge.

We have three categories of membership as follows:-

Adult one season's membership for a single adult, the fee is £15.00

Junior one season's membership for a person aged 16 and under, the fee is £2.50

Family one season's membership for up to four people (Adult or Junior) in a family unit, the fee is £20.00

What happens after you join? Once you have subscribed to Cardiff Astronomical Society, your membership fee (and any donation) will be paid to CAS via PayPal and your details will be forwarded to our Membership Secretary for processing. Your membership will normally be processed within a few days and your membership details sent out to you.

* We allow prospective members to attend a couple of sessions/lectures (To meet us and see what we do.) after which we will expect them to join the Society to continue attending.

** Subject to passing training course.
