Solar Viewing at Brecon - 30 July 2017

A day of sunshine and showers but thankfully the National Park Warden had thought ahead and provided some cover. The CAS team became experts at moving the equipment very quickly and all cwtching up together under a gazebo!
The event was to mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of the national park and CAS was one of the organisations invited to join in the party. Speeches were made, the cake was cut and we had a visit from the NP Chairwoman to thank us for our continued support over many years.
Some of us even went to a planetarium show run by Dark Skies Wales and interspersed this with the free freshly made and warm Welsh Cakes. We do know how to enjoy ourselves at these events!
As always, we are looking for more members to join in and help. Sometimes the small team could do with a break (to eat even more Welsh Cakes!) so if you are interested in a grand day out or star gazing at a dark site, please come and see me. You will be very welcome! Theresa Cooper
