CAS Observatory on TV on Friday, 19th June

Under special access arrangements and in compliance with The National Trust's Covid-19 Procedures, two members of the Society opened up our Observatory at Dyffryn Gardens on the night of Friday, 12th June to allow a production crew from Avanti Media the opportunity to film some scenes for the upcoming Gwylio'r Ser yn Fyw (Stargazing Live) show on site.

This programme will be transmitted on channel S4C on Friday, 19th June at 9.30 p.m. English subtitles will be available. Using special night vision and telescopic cameras, the presenters and experts will guide viewers through the various stars, starting with the Sun, Moon, planets and other heavenly patterns that appear in the sky at night at this time of the year, showing the best things to look out for. They will let the viewer know how and where to direct their telescopes or binoculars, if they have them, plus offer tips and techniques on what to look for with only our naked eyes.
