Museum of the Moon April 2026
National Museum Cardiff - 4th April 2026
Well it was very good of NASA to arrange things so that the Artemis II mission tied in with the Museum of the Moon event... Perhaps one reason why they had a record-breaking day of 7643 people through the door!
I’m sure some of the CAS team feel as if they’ve chatted to every attendee.
Luke Jerram's 7 metre moon took centre stage, featuring detailed NASA imagery accompanied by a magical soundscape.
At the CAS stand, the lunar regolith samples, borrowed from STFC, were a big attraction – Mike, Joan and Phill brought the samples to the other side of our table and chat to small groups as they made their way through the hall.
Bob Love and Bob Biss kept people enthralled with their work via remote observing on a big screen.
Tiffany was on-hand with her brilliant merchandise, with Edward and Denise also supporting at the stand.
Special thanks, as always, goes to our lead volunteer Theresa Cooper for arranging Cardiff Astronomical Society's involvement in the event and ensuring everything went off without a hitch.
A massive thank you and a huge well done to all those who came along to support the CAS stand.
Museum of the Moon will exhibit until 12th April 2026 - click here to book your free tickets.
