Star Party - Friday 12th December
After several cloudy and rainy events at the Dyffryn Observatory, we were pleased to see some clear dry skies for the last Star Party of 2025!
Our fantastic team of volunteers welcomed members of the public and we managed a good amount of observing through the big scope; Andromeda, Saturn, Jupiter, Neptune, Uranus to name a few sights.
Treasurer Mike and UKMON Coordinator Edward set up the Seestar, with photos captured below, including view of the Geminids.
Attendees also enjoyed a naked-eye tour, Volunteer Manager Theresa managed to get all the major constellations in despite some fast-moving clouds.
Chairperson Phill’s 20 minute talk was interrupted about 3 times as there was something good to see outside!
Thank you as always to the CAS team who give up their free time to welcome the public to our wonderful little observatory, and our enthusiastic guests. To quote Theresa, "Very successful and a reminder of why we do these things. When they are good, they are very good."
